De Paor Hospitality (DPH) is an Irish-owned hospitality consulting company based in Dublin operated by Nicholas Power. We run training programmes for the bar and restaurant sector that includes customer care, product knowledge, as well as up-selling, and whiskey master classes, just to name a few. Furthermore, through our network, we can help in facilitating events by offering discounted venue bookings or providing specialist staff such as security, music bands, DJs or photographers. We also offer live music bookings and magicians for private parties in Ireland.
Mr Nicholas Power
With a nearly 20-year career in hospitality, Nicholas has worked with prestigious names such as the Adare Manor, Sheen Falls Lodge and Moy House where he tailored his craft training as a Hotel Manager. Later positions included 5 years at the five star Merrion Hotel, Dublin as the Manager of the Cellar Bar.
From here he went on to work as the Bar Manager for Celebrity Chef Richard Corrigan and as Assistant Manager at The Coburg Bar at the prestigious Connaught Hotel in Mayfair, London.
In keeping with his mantra of continuous professional development, Nicholas has endeavored to expand his skill set earning diplomas in hotel management and marketing as well as multiple certificates including "train the trainer", WSET -Wines & Spirits Education Trust - intermediate level 2. Besides this, he was involved in a workshop with top hospitality consultant, Conor Kenny & Associates. It was Nicholas’s vision that has enabled DPH to provide additional and unique services such as chef consultancy and magicians for private parties in Ireland.
Mr Kobus Van Zyl
General manager of bars & restaurants at The Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Kobus has worked in other prestigious positions in his career stint that include being the General Manager at The Exchequer Wine Bar Dublin, Bar Manager at Sheen Falls Lodge in Kenmare, where he worked with Nicholas, and former food and beverage manager at The Four Seasons, Dublin 2.
During his 11 years at the Four Seasons, Dublin he was responsible for all beverage management, including managing all lists consisting of 350 wine bins, cocktail lists & the whiskey list, this being one of the largest collections of whiskey in Ireland with over 150 different labels.
